They had been best of friends for a long time.  Always present for each other – through thick and thin.  They celebrated each other’s moments of happiness.  They were each other’s agony aunts when things went wrong in their respective relationships. She was always very articulate while advising.  He was always a good listener.  However, off late, he had only been listening.

The more she spoke, the less he wanted to know.  She could tell, but she kept on talking anyway – as if it no longer mattered.  She even repeated something she had already said, which was quite extraordinary considering she had only been talking for a few minutes.  He began having feelings for her; in fact, a part of him wanted to kiss her right there and then – but she had to keep on talking.  That was the problem.  But that was her.
